The Domus 1 bubble mattress is a cost effective solution to reducing the risk of pressure ulcers for those at low risk. This lightweight and compact alternating pressure pad is composed of 130 6.3cm high interlocking bubble cells, and can be used as an alternative to heavier products such as gel overlay mattresses.
The Domus 1 is an overlay system designed to be used in conjunction with a full thickness foam mattress, it is simply installed on top of the mattress to increase the levels of support for the patient. It works by the individual bubbles of air inflating and deflating to help reduce the amount of pressure being exerted on the patients skin at any one time.
The system is ideal for short term use and easy to install, the Domus 1 comes with an easy to use manual pressure adjustable pump and securing extension flaps, fitted to the head and foot end of the bubble pad to prevent the pad from sliding. The Domus 1 is designed to be a great first line defence against pressure ulcers in both the acute and community sectors.
