Maxxcare® Pro Heel Boot Protectors

The Maxxcare® Pro Heel Boot provides excellent comfort and pressure reduction for patients with a 'High Risk' of developing pressure ulcers to the vulnerable heel area.

The Heel Pro Evolution protector is used to offload pressure on the heel and ankle.  Each boot contains 4 VICAIR pouch air-tubes that offer protection against pressure and the extremely smooth exterior offers protection against shear forces and friction.

For patients with pressure damage, the Maxxcare Boots can be an effective solution for wound healing as its unique design allows for heel offloading. The use of heel protection devices such as the Maxxcare Pro Heel Boot is a very effective intervention for preventing heel damage in patients and is a valuable resource in the treatment of existing pressure ulcers.

Walking a short distance indoors, for instance from bed to bathroom, is possible as the non-skid material on the bottom reduces the risk of sliding.  Take care not to load the heel while walking, as the exterior fabric around the heel is very slippery.

The 2014 European Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel guidelines also recommend the practice of offloading pressure 'floating heels'.
